FIFA World Cup trophy now in Dhaka

Dhaka, June 8: The FIFA World Cup trophy has finally arrived in Bangladesh. The valuable trophy of world football arrived in Dhaka on a FIFA chartered flight from Pakistan at around 11:20 am on Wednesday. The trophy was accompanied by a seven-member FIFA delegation.

One of the players in the 1998 World Cup-winning French team is Christian Lali Kake Karembeu.

Karembeu has played 54 international matches for France. The former defensive midfielder has a goal. He played 51 matches for the Real Madrid jersey at the Spanish club from 1997 to 2000.

The trophy was received at Hazrat Shah Jalal International Airport by BFF President Kazi Md. Salauddin and other officials of the Executive Committee. The trophy was then placed at the Radisson Blu Hotel. The trophy will be taken to Bangabhaban on Wednesday afternoon and Ganobhaban in the evening. There is also a special dinner party at night to mark the arrival of the trophy.

On the second day, on Thursday morning, the hotel will have arrangements for taking pictures with the trophies of eminent persons. The trophy will be displayed at the Army Stadium in the afternoon. There will be special concerts. The trophy will be taken from Dhaka to East Timor on Friday night.
