ICC World Cup 2023: Bangladesh team reaches India

Guwahati, Sept 28: Bangladesh national team cricketers have arrived in India's Guwahati to play the ICC World Cup.

The Tigers left Dhaka for Guwahati at around 4:30 pm local time on Wednesday. Shakib-Mushfiqur went to India on a chartered flight of Bangladesh Biman. All the team players went on the same flight. Shakib and team were greeted with flowers after arriving in India.

All members of the coaching staff including head coach Chandika Hathurusingha also went with the team. Team Director Khaled Mahmud Sujan was also on the same flight.

On September 29, Bangladesh will face Sri Lanka in the first warm-up match of the World Cup at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. Tiger cricketers will get only one day before that match. Bangladesh will play the second warm-up match against England at the same stadium on October 2. After that, it will leave for Dharamshala Stadium in Himachal Pradesh. This year's ODI World Cup starts on October 5. Bangladesh's first match is on October 7 against Afghanistan in Dharamsala.

Meanwhile, Biman Managing Director and CEO Shafiul Azim and senior officials welcomed the national cricket team and team management with flowers at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport before leaving Dhaka on board Biman Bangladesh Airlines charter flight BG-9393 at 4 pm on Wednesday.

Later the cake was cut in the holding lounge of the airport with the participation of the cricketers. Biman's managing director and CEO congratulated the cricketers, coaches and team management. He wished Bangladesh success in the upcoming World Cup.
