Dhaka, June 21: Bangladesh could not win the Emerging Teams Asia Cup due to extreme batting failure. Indian women's cricketers beat Lata Mondal and her team by 31 runs to become champions. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) organized the Women's Emerging Asia Cup Cricket for the first time. The women of Bangladesh had the opportunity to win the silverware, but they couldn't.

On Wednesday morning, India won the toss and batted first at Mangke Mission Road Ground Stadium in Hong Kong and collected 127 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Bangladesh girls were all out for just 96 runs in 19.2 overs. India became champions for the first time by winning by 31 runs.

Bangladesh's top order batsmen failed in the final as well as in the semi-final. Batting for a target of 128 runs, they were disoriented in the face of the cannon of India's spin bowlers.

They kept returning to the dressing room at regular intervals. Bangladesh lost 5 wickets before the team's total crossed 50. With the required run rate gradually increasing, in the end, Lata Mandal and the team was all out for 96 runs in 19.2 overs.

Bangladesh all-rounder Nahida Akhtar scored maximum 17 runs with the bat. She remained unbeaten. Apart from this, Shabnam Mostari scored 16 runs and Sathi Rani scored 13 runs. None of the rest could touch the double-digit mark. Bangladesh's score could have been worse had it not been for the 16 runs from the extra column.

Earlier, after winning the toss, Dinesh Brinda and Kanika Ahuja went down to bat and collected 127 runs after losing 7 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. Brinda was out for 36 runs. Kanika Ahuja scored 30 runs. U Chhetri was out for 22 runs, Shweta Shehraota scored 13 runs.
