Debut Match Jamal Bhuyan's strike in debut match hands over the win to Argentine club
Sports Correspondent, Dhaka, 28 August 2023: Bangladesh's Jamal Bhuyan made his debut in Argentinian third division club Sol de Mayo on Sunday wearing the captain's armband. Bhuyan's team beat Germinal 2-1 in the Torneo Federal A League. Jamal scored the team's second goal.
A dream of the Bangladesh captain came true through his debut. The Argentinian club gave Jamal the captaincy in his first game. He left the Bangladesh Premier League team Sheikh Russel KC and joined the Argentinian club. This Danish expatriate footballer has also served as the captain of Sheikh Russel KC. The Bangladesh captain won the game by leading his team.
Jamal's Sol de Mayo took the lead through Valdebenito's goal in the 30th minute. Jamal Bhuyan's men started the second half with a 1-0 lead. Sol de Mayo got a penalty in the 35th minute of the second half. Jamal Bhuyan scored to double the lead. Germinal narrowed the gap with a goal in the 87th minute.
To make his debut match special, expat Bangladeshis living in Argentina attended the game with banner, festoons. They stood beside the stadium for a long time holding banners that read 'Welcome Jamal'. Sol de Mayo played Jamal Bhuyan's debut match wearing the red-green jersey.
