Jamal Bhuyan signs for Argentine football club Sol de Mayo

Sports Correspondent, Dhaka, 19 August 2023: Jamal Bhuyan became the first professional footballer of Bangladesh to sign up for a club in Argentina. The Bangladesh captain signed a contract with Argentina's third division club Sol de Mayo on Friday night. Jamal Bhuyan live-streamed the historic moment of the deal on his Facebook page.

Before signing the contract, Jamal Bhuiyan said, "I love Bangladesh wherever I am. You follow me, my matches, my practice. I will try to give my best here."

Jamal Bhuiyan last played in Bangladesh Premier League club Sheikh Russell Krira Chakra last season. Jamal Bhuiyar made his debut in Bangladesh domestic football in Sheikh Jamal's jersey in 2014-15 season. Before that, he wore the red-green jersey of the national team in 2013. He played for Saif Sporting Club in Bangladesh Premier League, Chittagong Abahani and Mohammedan in Kolkata League.

Jamal Bhuiyan is the footballer who played the most 75 matches in the history of Bangladesh national team. Scored a goal for the Under-23 team at the 2018 Asian Games. With that goal, Bangladesh reached the second phase of Asian Games football for the first time. Bangladesh beat Qatar with Jamal's goal.
