Lightning kills two budding cricketers in Gazipur
Dhaka, September 11: Lightning in Gazipur accounted for the lives of two teenagers on Thursday.
The fatal accident took place at a stadium while the victims were playing football.
The deceased have been identified as Mohammad Nadim and Mizanur Rahman, 16-year-old cricketers.
They were playing a game of football after rains halted their cricket practice.
According to locals, the deceased were promising athletes, vying for a spot in the junior national side.
A third, an unidentified person, was also injured.
Meanwhile, the death toll in the annual monsoon season touched 350, according to Bangladesh non-profit network Disaster Forum, reported Prothom Alo.
