Nasir-Tamima's trial will be known on February 28

Dhaka, February 1: It will be known on February 28 whether the trial against cricketer Nasir Hossain and his wife Tamima Sultana Tammi on charges of seducing another's wife, adultery and defamation will continue.

On Tuesday (January 31), Dhaka's 6th Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge Murshid Ahmed's court fixed this day for the order after hearing the pleas of the plaintiffs and defendants. Besides, it will be known on that day whether Nasir's mother-in-law Sumi Akhtar, who was acquitted of the case, is facing trial again.

Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Tofazzal Hossain ordered to start trial by filing charges against cricketer Nasir Hossain and his wife Tamima Sultana Tammi on February 9 last year. However, Nasir's mother-in-law Sumi Akhter was acquitted from the case.

On March 6 last year, their lawyer Kazi Najibullah Hiru filed a revision against the order of filing charges against Nasir and Tamima in the Metropolitan Sessions Court. Meanwhile, the plaintiff's lawyer Ishrat Hasan filed a revision against the order to release Sumi Akhtar.

After the hearing today, Ishrat Hasan said that the accused made a revision against the order of framing charges against Nasir and Tamima. We file revision against the order of discharge of plaintiff Sumi Akhtar. A hearing was held about a year later. The court heard the arguments of both sides. February 28 has been fixed for order on the two petitions.

On February 24, 2021, Tammi's ex-husband Rakib Hasan filed this case as a plaintiff in the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court.

According to the complaint, Tammi and Rakib got married on February 26, 2011. They also have an eight-year-old daughter. Tammi is a cabin crew by profession. On February 14 of that year, Rakib noticed the picture of Tammi and cricketer Nasir Hossain's wedding spread on social media. He learnt about the incident after reading the newspapers.
