Shakib equals Shahid Afridi's record for most wickets in T20 World Cup

Dhaka, October 22: Bangladesh's all time greatest cricketer Shakib Al Hasan has added another feather to his cap, by equalling with Pakistani legend Shahid Afridi for the most number of wickets in T20 World Cup. A few days ago, Shakib overtook Sri Lankan great Lasith Malinga for the highest number of wickets in T20 International matches.

Currently, the Bangladeshi talisman is tied with Afridi with 39 wickets. However, Shakib has accomplised the feat playing seven less matches than the Pakistani great.

The southpaw needed ten wickets to overtake Afridi and had already managed nine wickets in the first three match of the tournament.

Shakib took two, three and four wickets against Scotland, Oman and Papua New Guinea respectively.

The former number one all rounder in the world is also in red hot form with the bat, averaging 34 runs.

He has also picked up two Man of the match awards- in consecutive matches- for his allround performances- against Oman and PNG.

Bangladesh will face teams like Australia, South Africa, England and West Indies in the next stage.
