Shakib-Litton wants to go to IPL without playing Test against Ireland

Dhaka, March 29: Instead of the Test against Ireland, they applied to the BCB for a no-objection letter to stay in the IPL from the beginning. At the last minute of the auction, Kolkata Knight Riders took two Bangladeshi stars Shakib Al Hasan and Litton Das in the team. Both of them are again the mainstay in the Bangladesh Test team.

Shakib is the captain and Litton is the vice-captain. However, they applied for leave from the only Test against Ireland. They applied to the BCB for a no-objection letter to stay in the IPL from the beginning.

Cricket Operations Chairman Jalal Younus confirmed the news to the media on Sunday and said, "They have applied for leave to play the IPL instead of the only Test against Ireland. We have received a letter from them. It has not been decided whether the no-objection letter will be granted."

The Bangladesh-Ireland Test will start on April 4 at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium.

Meanwhile, the IPL starts on March 31. Kolkata will play their first match against Punjab Kings in Mohali on April 1. Apart from Shakib-Litton, there is another star of Bangladesh Mustafizur Rahman in IPL. However, there is no problem for Mustafiz to take leave as he is not in a Test contract. He will be in the first match of Delhi Capitals against the hosts in Lucknow on 1st.
