Skipper Tamim's century helps Bangladesh clinch ODI series 3-0 against hosts Zimbabwe

Dhaka, July 21: On the back of skipper Tamim Iqbal's century, Bangladesh chased down a steep target set by hosts Zimbabawe and win the three-match ODI series 3-0 at the Harare Sports Club on Tuesday.

Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Zimbabwe score 298 runs before being bowled out in 49.3 overs.

Bangladesh chased down the target and ended up with 303 runs with two overs to spare.

Tamim, who top scored with 112 runs off 97 balls, was adjudged the Man of the Match. His innings was encrusted with four fours and three sixes.

Shakib Al Hasan, who took home the Man of the Series trophy for his all-round performance, chipped in with 30 runs, as did Mohammad Mithun.

Wicket-keeper Nurul Hasan and all-rounder Afif Hossain anchored the chase with scores of unbeaten 45 and 26 runs respectively.

For Zimbabwe, Wesley Madhevere and Donald Tiripano picked up two wickets each, while Luke Jongwe accounted for one scalp.

Among the batsmen, wicket-keeper Regis Chakabva scored 84 runs. All-rounders Sikandar Raza and Ryan Burl chipped in with scores of 57 and 59 respectively, to help the hosts post a competitive total.

Bangladesh's Saifuddin and Mustafizur picked up three wickets each, while mahmudullah Riyad- playing his 200th ODI for Bangladesh- accounted for two Zimbabwean batsmen. Speedstar Taskin Ahmed and all-rounder Shakib claimed a wicket each.
