Dhaka, July 17: The rain came right after the Bangladeshi pacers breathed fire. It took off three overs from the match. However, after the match was resumed following the shower, Afghanistan folded like a house of cards. The visitors had a tought time survive the spin threat from Nasum and Shakib. The respite came from a partnership from Azmatullah Omarzai and Karim Janat, who scored 25 and 20 runs respectively.

Bangladesh had a flying start while chasing a small target. But two openers were sent back in the space of three balls, thereby slowing the scoring rate. But Shakib Al Hasan's dependable batsmanship made it a easy chase for the hosts.

Afghanistan lost the toss on Sunday and were sent to bat first. They scored 116 runs in 17 overs for the loss of seven wickets. Taskin Ahemed took three runs for 33 runs and was the pick of the Bangladesi bowlers.

Bangladesh chased down the score in 16 overs. They lost four wickets. Litton Das scored 35 runs.

This was also Bangladesh's first bilateral series win against Afghanistan in the T20 format.

Bangladesh's target was revised to 119 as per the DLS Method. Litton Das opened the scoring with a boundary in the third ball of their innings. He scored at a brisk pace, hitting boundaries at will. Bangladesh also reached 50 runs in five overs.

However, after the powerplay, Afghanistan bowlers fought back and slowed the scoring rate, this also yielded them two wickets. Afif followed Litton. He scored 24 runs off 20 balls.
