Dhaka, February 18: The T20 World Cup in South Africa is like a never-ending nightmare for the touring Bangladeshi women's team. After Sri Lanka and Australia, the tigresses also had to suffer a big loss against New Zealand.

The new Zealand team defeated Bangladesh by a huge margin of 71 runs in the Group One match in Cape Town. This is Bangladesh's third loss in a row.

The Bangladeshi girls could not benefit from any aspect of bat-ball. After winning the toss and batting, New Zealand scored 189 runs for the loss of three wickets. Suzie Bates played an unbeaten innings of 81 runs off 61 balls. Fahima Khatun of Bangladesh took 2 wickets for 36 runs.

In response, no one from Bangladesh could fight except Murshida Khatun and Swarna Akter. Nigar Sultana's team was never in the run chase. In the end they scored 118 runs for the loss of eight wickets. Murshida scored 30 from 38 balls and Swarna scored 31 runs from 22 balls. New Zealand's Eden Carson took three wickets for 18 runs.
