Bangladesh cricket team achieved the biggest victory of the century in cricket by crushing the visiting Afghanistan by 546 in the only Test. This is Bangladesh's biggest win in terms of runs in their Test history. Earlier in 2005, the Tigers won against Zimbabwe by 226 runs in Chittagong.

All in all, Bangladesh set the precedent of the third biggest victory in terms of runs in Test history. But the big win of this century. The first two major victories in Test history were England and Australia. England beat Australia by 675 runs in Brisbane in 1928 and Australia beat England by 562 runs in 1934 at the Oval.

Afghanistan scored 45 runs for 2 wickets at the end of the third day with a target of 662 runs at Mirpur Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium. Afghans needed 617 more runs with 8 wickets in hand.

Today, Bangladesh did not have to sweat much as pacer Taskin Ahmed took 4 wickets for a career-best 37 runs on the fourth day. Pacer Ebadat Hossain gave Bangladesh the first success in the third over. Starting with 5 runs, Nasir Jamal caught the ball behind the wicket. He scored 6 runs.

After a while, pacer Shariful Islam gave Bangladesh the second wicket. The umpire responded to Bangladesh's catch out request against Rahmat Shah. But Rahmat saved his own wicket with the review.

Shariful quickly forgot the sorrow of not being able to hunt Rahmat. He dismissed Afghanistan's wicketkeeper Afsar Zazai for 6 runs. Zazai caught Mehdi Hasan Miraj in the foul.

Bahir Shah replaced Afghanistan captain Hasmatullah Shahidi, who suffered a concussion in Jazair's departure. Earlier in the day, Shahidi was retired after being hit on the helmet by pacer Taskin's bouncer. In the end Shahidi got concussion from 13 runs.

Bahir was dismissed for a personal 7 runs by Shariful, playing Test for the first time in his career. Taskin, who took 1 wicket the previous day, came to bowl for the first time in the 25th over. After that, Taskin brought Bangladesh to the brink of victory by hunting down three Afghanistan batters. He hunted Rahmat Shah for 30, Karim Janat for 18 and Ahmadzai for 1 run. In the middle, when Hamza became a victim of Miraj for 5 runs, Afghanistan became 9 wickets for 110 runs.
