World champions humbled by Bangladesh as hosts win T20 series 3-0
Dhaka, March 14: After registering a memorable series win against world champions England, the faithfuls were waiting to see if the home side could make it 3-0 and Shakib Al Hasan's men did not disappoint.
Winning the toss, English skipper Jos Buttler decided to field first.
An in-form Bangladesh batters scored 158 runs for the loss of just two wickets. Litton Das (73) and Najmul Hasan Shanto's (47 not out) paved the foundation.
In reply, the visiting side could manage only 142 runs and lost six wickets during the course of their innings.
Dawid Malan (53) and Jos Buttler (41) manged to fight, but it wasn't enough to stem the loss.
For England, Adil Rashid and Chris Jordan picked up a wicket each. Among the Bangladeshi bowlers, Taskin Ahmed picked by a brace, while Tanvir Islam, Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman accounted for a wicket each. English skipper Jos Buttler was run out.
For his prolific run with the bat, Najmul Hasan Shanto was adjudged the player of the series.
