Hefazat announces new committee led by Babunagari-Jihadi

Dhaka, June 7: Finally, the new central committee of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh has been announced. The new 33-member committee was announced at a press conference at Makhjanul Uloom Madrasa in Khilgaon at 11am on Monday. Leaders with jails and political identities have been dropped from the new committee. Junaid Babunagari has been retained as Amir and Nurul Islam Jihadi as secretary general in the committee.

Dhaka, June 7: About a month and a half after the announcement of the dissolution of the Hefazat-e-Islam committee, the organisation is going to announce a new committee on June 7.

36 Hefazat leaders and activists accused of killing ex-Amir Allama Shafi

Dhaka, June 6: A case has been filed against 36 leaders and activists of Hefazat-e-Islam for allegedly murdering former Amir Allama Shah Shafi. Mohammad Moinuddin, a relative of the late leader, filed the case in the Chittagong Judicial Magistrate's Court on Thursday, June 3. The complainant is not a Hefazat-e-Islam official.

Dhaka, April 13: Main Uddin, the brother-in-law of former Amir Shah Ahmad Shafi of Hefazat-e-Islam had filed a case in a Chittagong court on December 17 last year after the latter's alleged murder.
