Dhaka, November 13: Several organizations in the country have demanded Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen's resignation, including the withdrawal of his statement in the international media about the attack on Hindu homes and temples across Bangladesh. Leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra Oikya Parishad, Bangladesh Juba Oikya Parishad, Bangladesh Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Oikya Parishad and Bangladesh Jatiya Hindu Mahajote made the demand at a procession and rally in front of the National Press Club on Friday (November 12) afternoon.

Dhaka, November 4: A court has remanded four people, including Iqbal Hossain- arrested for keeping the Holy Quran inside a Hindu marquee, leading to attack on the minorities during the Durga puja- for three days.

Dhaka, November 3: Awami League General Secretary and Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader said the communal attacks were done to erode the confidence of Hindus in the Awami League and to sever friendly relations with neighbouring India.

Four more arrested in communal attack in Noakhali, 5 remanded

Dhaka, November 2: The court has remanded five accused in the case of communal attack in Noakhali's Begumganj. Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Kazi Sonia Akhter and Senior Judicial Magistrate Sheikh Mohammad Mahibullah issued the remand order after a hearing on Monday (November 1). District Superintendent of Police Md Shahidul Islam confirmed the matter on Monday evening.

Dhaka, October 30: Indian journalists have hailed the Bangladesh government's immediate move to curb communal violence. Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud said this after returning to Dhaka following his visit to India. He made the remarks on Friday (October 29) while exchanging views with reporters at his official residence on Minto Road in the afternoon.

Iqbal, three others remanded for five more days in Comilla incident

Dhaka, October 30: A Dhaka court has remanded four people, including Iqbal Hossain, arrested as the main accused in the case of keeping the Holy Quran in a temporary puja mandapa on the banks of Nanua Dighi in Comilla. After a seven-day remand, they were produced in the court of Comilla Senior Judicial Magistrate Farhana Sultana on Friday (October 29) at 2:45pm.

High Court directs judicial inquiry into attacks on Hindus

Dhaka, October 29: The High Court has directed the concerned district judges to investigate the incidents of communal attacks in six districts of the country, including Comilla. The concerned have been asked to investigate the matter and submit a report to the court within the next 60 days. Apart from Comilla, the other five districts include Chandpur, Noakhali, Chittagong, Rangpur and Feni.

Youth arrested for provocative social media post

Dhaka, October 28: The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested a 30-year-old youth, identified as Ashish Mallick, 30, for spreading false information and provocative posts on social media about the Comilla incident.

Writ in High Court to remove all provocative posts from social media

Dhaka, October 27: A writ petition has been filed in the High Court seeking directions to remove all kinds of provocative posts and videos posted on social media for the purpose of communal violence. The writ petition also calls for a judicial inquiry to find those responsible for attacks on Hindu homes, places of worship and minority communities across the country.

Marquee Attack: Names of instigators to be revealed soon, says Home Minister

Dhaka, October 26: The names of the perpetrators of the violence in the puja mandapa will be revealed soon. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal made the remarks at a 'BSRF Dialogue' organized by the Bangladesh Secretariat Reporters Forum (BSRF) at the Media Center at the Secretariat on Tuesday (October 26) at noon. General Secretary Masudul Haque presided over the function.

Noakhali violence: Accused Faisal names 15 others including BNP leader Bulu

Dhaka, October 26: Faisal Inam Kamal, 39, vice-president of the district Swechchhasebak Dal, has claimed responsibility for the attack on a puja mandapa and a temple in Chaumuhani of Noakhali's Begumganj upazila. In his statement, he mentioned the involvement of 15 people, including BNP central vice chairman Barkat Ullah Bulu, police said.

Comilla violence: Prime accused Iqbal Hossain produced in court

Dhaka, October 23: The main accused in the Comilla violence Iqbal Hossain has been produced in court for keeping the Holy Quran Sharif in a Hindu Durga Puja marquee on the bank of Nanua Dighi. He was taken to Comilla Senior Judicial Magistrate Mithila Jahan Nipar's court at 11:55 am on Saturday (October 23). Law enforcement has tightened security at the court premises.

Comilla violence: Iqbal Hossain confesses to keeping Quran inside Hindu Durga Puja marquee

Dhaka, October 23: Iqbal Hossain has admitted to keeping the Holy Quran inside the puja marquee in Comilla. The accused was brought to the Comilla Police Line around 12:30 pm on Friday (October 22), where he admitted his crime during a preliminary interrogation.
