Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said this at the Eid gift distribution ceremony of Fishermen's League at Manik Mia Avenue in the capital on Friday (April 5).

He said this at a press conference after the rescue of the bank manager at the Bandarban Hill District Parishad conference room on Friday (April 5) at 11 am.

BGB to set up 5 BOPs on inaccessible border to block KNF route

Dhaka, June 16: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) does not have a BOP (Border Observation Post) covering a large part of the rugged hilly border of the hill district of Bandarban. That is why the members of the extremist organization Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF) can travel freely through those areas. The BGB will set up five new BOPs in the vacant areas to prevent KNF members from relocating through the border areas after the recent joint operations.

Bandarban connected to national highway

Dhaka, February 1: Bandarban-Keranihat highway widening project has been completed ahead of schedule. Through this, the tourist city of Bandarban is connected to the national highway. The 20 Engineer Construction Battalion of the Army has completed the project at a cost of Tk 266 crore 56 lakh. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will officially inaugurate the road soon.
