Dhaka, April 13: Adjacent to Phulbaria Railway Station was a field measuring two and a quarter acres. Children and teenagers of old Dhaka used to play cricket and football in this field. During Eid-ul-Azha, Dhaka's biggest animal market used to be located in this field. A festive atmosphere prevailed in old Dhaka around this market. But after the transfer of Fulbaria railway station to Kamalapur, there was a setback in the field. The city corporation is making a cloth market by occupying the field.
3,845 traders affected in Bangabazar fire
Dhaka, April 12: The investigation committee formed by Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has submitted the final report regarding the fire incident in Bangabazar. According to the investigation report submitted to DSCC Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh on Tuesday afternoon, 3,845 businessmen were affected in Bangbazar fire.
Affected Bangabazar traders can start business from Wednesday: Mayor Taposh
Dhaka, April 10: Businessmen affected by the Bangabazar fire will be able to set up wooder platforms and start business from next Wednesday. Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh told reporters after a meeting with business leaders related to the Bangabazar fire at Nagar Bhaban on Sunday afternoon.
Temporary shops will be set up in Bangabazar before Eid
