Dhaka, Sept 12: Every year on the occasion of Durga Puja, Bengalis across India including in West Bengal taste hilsa as a gift from Bangladesh. Last year (in 2022) before Durga Puja, Bangladesh got permission to export 2,900 tons of hilsa to India. However, Indian fish importers were able to import only 1,300 tons of hilsa. As a result, during Durga Puja last year, the price of this delicious hilsa in Bangladesh was beyond the reach of common people.

Sheikh Hasina-Modi consensus to strengthen Dhaka-Delhi relations

Dhaka, Sept 8: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has left Dhaka for New Delhi to attend the 'G20 Leaders' Summit'. Three Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) are likely to be signed between Dhaka and New Delhi during Hasina's visit to India. This conference is going to be held from September 8 to 10.

Hasina-Modi meeting in Delhi on September 10

Dhaka, Sept 4: The two-day G20 summit will be held in New Delhi, India, on September 9-10. A bilateral meeting between Bangladesh and India is likely to take place on September 10, the last day of the conference. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will lead Bangladesh and her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi will lead India.
