Dhaka, February 21: Chief Justice Hasan Fayez Siddiqui has said that judgment has been written in Bengali in the Supreme Court. He said a separate branch has been set up for the full implementation of the judgment. He was speaking to reporters after paying homage to the language martyrs and laying a wreath at the central Shaheed Minar on Monday (February 21) morning.

Supreme Court hearing to go virtual from today

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, January 19: Chief Justice Hasan Fayez Siddiqui has decided to conduct virtual proceedings of both the Appellate and High Court divisions of the Supreme Court from Wednesday (January 19) due to the rising cases of coronavirus in the country. On Tuesday (January 18), the Supreme Court administration issued a separate notification in this regard.

Japanese children custody: Daughters to stay with mother till January 3, orders court

Own representative, Dhaka, 15 December 2021: The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court has ruled  that the two daughters will stay with their Japanese mother till January 3. However, father Imran Sharif will be able to meet the children at any time between 9:00 am and 9:00 pm every day. The names of these two daughters are Jasmine Malika (11) and Laila Lina (10).

If the verdict does not mention till death, life imprisonment is 30 years: High Court

Dhaka, December 1: The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court has ruled that a convict sentenced to life imprisonment is liable to imprisonment for up to 30 years, if the sentence does not mention 'till death'.

নিজস্ব প্রতিনিধি, ঢাকা, ১১ আগস্ট ২০২০ : কোভিড-১৯ সংক্রমণ ঝুঁকি এড়াতে তিন মাস ভার্চুয়ালি চলার পর এবার শারীরিক উপস্থিতিতে নিয়মিত হাই কোর্ট বেঞ্চে বিচারকাজ চালানোর সিদ্ধান্ত এসেছে। প্রধান বিচারপতি সৈয়দ মাহমুদ হোসেন ৩৫টি ভার্চুয়াল বেঞ্চের পাশাপাশি ১৮টি নিয়মিত বেঞ্চ গঠন করে দিয়েছেন। আগামীকাল বুধবার বেলা সাড়ে ১০টা থেকে বসবে এসব নিয়মিত বেঞ্চ।

নিজস্ব প্রতিনিধি, ঢাকা, জানুয়ারি ১২ : ঢাকার সুপ্রিম কোর্ট এলাকায় তিনটি মোটরসাইকেলে আগুন দিয়েছে দুর্বৃত্তরা। কে বা কারা আগুন দিয়েছে এ বিষয়ে নিশ্চিত নয় পুলিশ। বুধবার বিকেল ৪টা ৩৫ মিনিটে এই অগ্নিসংযোগের ঘটনা ঘটে। ফায়ার সার্ভিস ও সিভিল ডিফেন্স কন্ট্রোল রুমের ডিউটি অফিসার এরশাদ হোসেন বলেন, আগুনের খবর পেয়ে ফায়ার সার্ভিসের গাড়ি ঘটনাস্থলে গেছে।
