20,000 Hajj pilgrims return to home

Dhaka, July 8: This year, 19,785 pilgrims have returned to the country by a total of 53 return flights after the completion of the holy Hajj ceremony till Friday (July 7). Among them, the number of flights operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines is 17, the number of flights operated by Saudia Airlines is 23 and the flights of Flynas are 13. This information was known from the 45th bulletin of the Ministry of Religious Affairs on Friday.

Prime Minister exchanged pleasantries with Biman passengers

Dhaka, June 17: After her visit to Switzerland, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina returned to the country on Friday, June 17 at 1:55 am. She left for the country from Geneva at 11:50 local time on a regular flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines. On the way back to the country, Sheikh Hasina went around the plane and exchanged pleasantries with passengers. Many passengers were surprised and happy to see the Prime Minister sitting next to them in his seat.

Exam questions leaked from Biman MD's room: DB

Dhaka, November 3: Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Intelligence (Lalbagh) Department has arrested a total of 10 people on the basis of intelligence information regarding the leak of Biman Bangladesh Airlines recruitment exam question paper, examination cancellation and overall investigation. In the investigation and in the statement given by nine out of 10 arrested, it is clear that the question papers of the recruitment test were leaked from the MD's room. In this case, so far, the transaction information of Tk 50 lakh has been found. Many more blank checks were recovered.

Question leak: Five officers and employees of Biman arrested

Dhaka, October 22: Lalbagh Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DB) has arrested five officials and employees of Biman Bangladesh Airlines for allegedly leaking recruitment exam question papers. They were arrested on Friday (October 21) night.

Bird hit causes flight rescheduling at airports in Dhaka, Chittagong

Dhaka, September 30: The flight schedule of Biman Bangladesh Airlines from Dhaka to Riyadh was disrupted at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. On the other hand, at Chittagong's Shah Amanat International Airport, the flight did not leave on schedule due to the discovery of bird remains in the engines of two aircrafts. Airport director Wing Commander Farhad Hossain said that the incident took place on two flights bound for Dubai and Muscat on Thursday night.

Pilots call off agitation following assurance from aviation authorities

Dhaka, October 27: Angry pilots, who have refrained from operating flights outside the contract in protest of pay cuts due to reduced passengers during the coronavirus pandemic, have suspended ongoing protests on the assurance of authorities. They made the decision after a fruitful meeting with the managing directors and directors of Biman Bangladesh Airlines on Tuesday (October 26) at noon. Earlier, the pilots withdrew from operating the flight outside the contract in protest of the pay cut from last Monday (October 25).
