Local company produces low cost bird flu vaccine

Dhaka, June 18: To prevent bird flu, a chicken needs to be vaccinated in three doses. The first dose is between seven and 14 days of age, the second dose is given in 28 days. The last dose is to be given at the age of 6 months. The vaccine is being patented, manufactured and marketed by FNF Pharmaceuticals for use in poultry. The vaccine named 'Bangla Bird Flu H9 VAC' invented by FNF Pharmaceuticals has already been approved by the Drug Administration for production and marketing.

Letter to three ministries to prevent entry of poultry through the border

Dhaka, January 13: The Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock has written to the three ministries to take steps to prevent the spread of bird flu through the border areas. Recently, there has been an outbreak of bird flu in various states of neighboring India. There is a fear of spreading the disease in Bangladesh as well.
