Myanmar releases nine detained fishermen

Dhaka, November 26: Myanmar has returned nine Bangladeshi fishermen abducted by the BGP while fishing in the mouth of the Naf River in the Bay of Bengal, 15 days after detaining them. They were handed over after a flag meeting between Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Border Guard Police (BGP) inside Myanmar on Wednesday (November 25).

Myanmar yet to return nine fishermen four days after detaining them

Dhaka, November 14: Four days have passed yet the Myanmar Border Security Force (BGP) did not return the 9 Bangladeshi fishermen who were taken away while fishing in the Naf River in the Bay of Bengal. Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members contacted them to bring them back, but there was no response from the BGP. As a result, there is anxiety among the relatives of the abducted fishermen.

Bangladeshi shot dead by Myanmar border guards

Dhaka, November 9: A Bangladeshi fisherman has been shot dead by Myanmar Border Security Force (BGP) while fishing in a boat on the Naf River. The shot dead fisherman died in the late night of Saturday evening while undergoing treatment at the surgery department of Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital. The deceased was identified as Mohammad Islam, 35, son of Gura Miah of Baraitali area in Ward 9 of Teknaf Sadar Union.
