Dhaka, December 8: "Developing countries have some challenges, we are ready to face them," Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said at the inauguration ceremony of eight newly constructed facilities including 'Green Factory Award 2020' and 'Women Workers Hostel' through video conferencing on Wednesday (December 8). "We have to move forward and we are moving forward," she said.

High-level committee begins work to address next potential challenge after LDC graduation

Dhaka, May 6: The high-level committee has begun work on formulating its strategy and plan to overcome the potential challenges after graduating from LDC. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on April 26 formed a 22-member high-level committee headed by Chief Secretary Dr Ahmed Kaikaus to prepare, plan, implement and monitor the potential challenges of Bangladesh's status as a developing country from the LDCs.

Bangladesh to become a developing country in 2026

Dhaka, March 15: The Committee for Development Policy (CDP) has recommended a five-year preparation period for Bangladesh instead of three years as a preparation for the transition from a least developed country to a developing country. As a result, in 2026, Bangladesh will be out of the list of least developed countries. The information was given at a workshop on 'LDC Graduation: Impact on RMG' in the conference room of the Commerce Ministry on Sunday (March 14).

Dhaka, February 27: Bangladesh is going to be upgraded from the list of Least Developed Countries (LDCs) to the list of developing countries. Bangladesh has received the final recommendation of the United Nations in this regard. The announcement came after a five-day UN meeting on the issue.
