Dhaka, Feb 12: To prevent all kinds of crimes on the road, the work of installing CCTV cameras on Dhaka-Chittagong highway at a cost of Tk 152 crore is almost at the final stage. Passengers and drivers are expecting to get benefits once those are installed.

Pressure of home-bound people increased on Dhaka-Chittagong highway

Dhaka, April 19: The holy Eid-ul-Fitr holiday starts today (Wednesday). Many people have started leaving the capital Dhaka from Tuesday (April 18) to celebrate Eid with their loved ones. The pressure of people facing home has increased on various highways. In Narayanganj section of Dhaka and Chittagong highway, the pressure of home-bound people has also increased. Along with that, the traffic pressure has also increased. However, there is no severe traffic jam anywhere on the highway.

Dhaka, April 9: The Dhaka-Chittagong section of Narayanganj has been severely congested for about 15 km. The driver and passengers have suffered. Such a scene was seen on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway around 11 pm on Saturday (April 9).

Underpass U-loop to be constructed on Dhaka-Chittagong highway

Dhaka, July 26: A project worth Tk 568 crore is being taken up again to make the Dhaka-Chittagong highway safe and congestion free. Under the project, new underpass U-loop will be constructed on such highways. The initiative is aimed at reducing the risk of accidents and providing sustainable, safe and cost-effective communication systems.

Home Minister comes down hard on theft of export goods on highways

Dhaka, July 13: A discussion meeting was held between the Ministry of Home Affairs, Garment Industry Owners Association-BGMEA and Bangladesh Covered Van Owners Association to discuss the prevention of theft of garments on the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan presided over the meeting at the home ministry on Monday (July 12). Members of law enforcement agencies took part in the event.
