Own correspondent, Dhaka, 8 August 2023: The government is bringing the Cyber Security Act to replace the Digital Security Act. However, cases under the previous law are being considered to be settled under the new law. Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq said that the punishment has been reduced in the new law, the cases of crimes of the previous law will be tried to be settled under the new law.

Digital Security Act to undergo name change, amendments in various sections

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 7 August 2023: The much debated Digital Security Act is getting a name change. The new name is the Cyber Security Act. At the same time many sections of the law are being amended. The proposal in this regard has been approved in the cabinet meeting on Monday (August 7). Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq told reporters this information. A cabinet meeting was held at the Prime Minister's office on Monday morning. It was presided over by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
