13 students selected as Bangabandhu Scholars

Dhaka, March 31: On the occasion of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's birth centenary 'Mujib Borsho', the government has decided to select 'Bangabandhu Scholar' and provide scholarships to 13 meritorious students of university level.

SSC forms to be filled up from April 1; No selection tests

Dhaka, March 22: Filling of 2021 SSC exam form is going to start from 1st April. This information has been given in a notification issued by Dhaka Board on Sunday (March 21).

Application for admission in batch system from April 1, admission test to start from June 19

Dhaka, March 9: Students will be able to apply for admission to the university in a batch system from 1 to 15 April for admission in the 2020-21 academic year. The test will start from June 19. Students with minimum qualifications will be able to apply early. The decision was taken at a meeting of the core committee comprising vice-chancellors of Jagannath University held at 12 noon on Monday (March 8). 

The draft education law is final by banning note-guides

Candidate eligibility during teacher recruitment at public universities to be determined

Dhaka, February 11: Eligibility of candidates for recruitment of teachers in public universities is being determined. The university authorities will have to appoint teachers through merit verification among those qualified candidates. At the same time, it has been decided to extend the leave period of teachers. A directive in this regard will be issued this month to implement it, University Grants Commission (UGC) sources said. 

Revised short syllabus of SSC-HSC published

Dhaka, February 6: Revised short syllabus of 2021 SSC and HSC examinations has been published. This restructured syllabus prepared by the National Curriculum and Textbook Board has been sent to the headmasters of all the educational institutions under the Dhaka Board of Education.

New principals appointed in 46 government colleges

Dhaka, February 4: The Ministry of Education has appointed new principals in 46 government colleges of the country. The principal will be posted in the remaining colleges soon. The appointment was made on Tuesday (February 2) in a separate order from the Secondary and Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education.

No scarcity of seats in higher education: UGC

Dhaka, February 1: The Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC) has said that there will be no crisis in the country's higher education seats. According to the UGC, there are about 13,20,000 seats in undergraduate honors, graduate passes and equivalent courses in various institutions engaged in higher education.

100 percent of candidates clear HSC exam

Dhaka, January 30: The results of this year's HSC-equivalent examination have been released on the basis of the results of JSC-JDC and SSC-equivalent examinations. Due to the Corona situation, this time the first 100 percent of the candidates have passed. The pass rate in the last exam was 73.95 percent.

HSC results to be announced today; Gathering in educational institutions prohibited

Dhaka, January 30: The results of HSC and equivalent examinations will be released today, Saturday (January 30). This time the results will be published online due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Therefore, the Ministry of Education has instructed the students and parents not to gather at the educational institution. The directive was announced in a press release sent by the ministry on Friday (January 29) night.

HSC results to be declared in January

Dhaka, January 28: Results for the HSC and equivalent examinations are likely to be declared in the month of January, reports said, stating that legal complications are over. Different education boards have been instructed to produce, publish and distribute certificates, however, it is subjected to the approval from the Prime Minister.

HSC results likely to be published in February

Dhaka, January 27: HSC results are likely to be declared in February, after consultation with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, reports said. Officials will seek permission from the Prime Minister in between January 29 and February 3 before publishing the results.

HSC results by January 28

Dhaka, January 11: Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam said the results of HSC and equivalent examinations would be released by January 28. The cabinet secretary said this at a briefing on the final approval in the cabinet of the revised law of education boards to publish HSC or higher secondary results without examination due to coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

HSC results to be declared next week

Dhaka, December 29: HSC equivalent examination results have been prepared. The results will be released in the first week of January 2021.
