Dhaka, Sept 28: Today, Thursday (12 Rabiul Awal), is the holy Eid Milad-Un-Nabi. About one and a half thousand years ago, on this day in the year 570, the auspicious appearance of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), who was sent as a mercy to the human race, took place. The day is known as the holy Eid Milad-Un-Nabi to the Muslim Ummah. On this day of 570 (12 Rabiul Awal), Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was born in the lap of mother Amina in the noble Quraish clan of the city of Mecca, Arabia.

Festivals of three religions celebrated simultaneously in Bangladesh

Dhaka, October 21: Thousands of Muslims have vowed to maintain inter-religious unity at a rally in Bangladesh on Wednesday on the occasion of Eid-e-Miladunnabi. At the same time, Eid-e-Miladunnabi of Muslims, Kojagari Lakshmi Puja of Hindus and Prabarana Purnima of Buddhists have been celebrated in the country. Religious festivals were celebrated a few days after the communal unrest.
