Dhaka, Sept 27: Election Commissioner (EC) Md. Anisur Rahman said that the election was questionable because the ballot was sent the previous night in the last election. So this time the ballot papers will be sent to the centres on the morning of the election day.
CEC writes to European Union asking to send observers
Dhaka, Sept 25: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal has responded to the letter sent by the European Union (EU) regarding not sending a full observer team to the upcoming national parliamentary elections. In a letter written to the EU ambassador in Dhaka, the CEC urged to send election observers.

Dhaka, August 26: Fake information is being spread on the social media Facebook about the schedule and polling of the 12th National Parliament. Election Commission (EC) Additional Secretary Ashok Kumar Debnath has confirmed that the information published on Facebook about the national election schedule, symbol allocation and polling is fake. He said that the matter will be presented to the commission to take action against this false information.
Draft in the first week of September on foreign observers
Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 23 August 2023: The Election Commission (EC) held a meeting with four ministries and RBR on Wednesday (23 August) regarding the foreign observer policy on the occasion of the upcoming 12th National Parliament elections. The relevant representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Home Affairs, Law, Information and Broadcasting and NBR were present in the meeting. The EC mainly takes inter-ministerial views on foreign observer policies.

EC wants to authorize 68 domestic monitoring bodies
Dhaka, August 9: The Election Commission (EC) has initially finalized 68 domestic observation agencies to monitor the elections ahead of the 12th National Assembly elections. The EC issued a public notice on Tuesday giving 15 days time for claims/objections/complaints against the companies. After settling the claims/objections, the EC will finally be included as the observer body for the next five years.
Checking original and duplicate observers is not Election Commission's responsibility: EC Alamgir
Dhaka, August 3: Election Commissioner Md Alamgir said that it is the responsibility of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, not of the Election Commission, to see who is real and who is fake among the international observers. He said this in response to a question from reporters at his office in Agargaon election building on Wednesday afternoon.

Schedule of National Elections to be announced in October: CEC
Dhaka, July 28: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal said, "As far as I remember, the schedule has to be given 90 days in advance. However, it is not supposed to happen before October. It's not fixed yet. However, I can guess that the schedule will be announced sometime in late October or mid."
Govt has not changed our proposal in RPO: CEC
Dhaka, July 11: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal said that the government and parliament have not made any changes to our proposal in the Representation of the People Order (RPO).
