FDC section of the elevated expressway opened, heavy traffic on the first day

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 21 March 2024: Traffic has started through exit ramp (descent road) adjacent to FDC gate of Dhaka Elevated Expressway. The stretch was opened for public traffic after 2pm on Wednesday (March 20). After opening, there was no traffic jam, but after 5 pm, the traffic pressure increased there. Around 5.30 pm, the traffic from Hatirjheel-FDC junction backed up to the elevated expressway. As a result, the Dhaka Elevated Expressway was conquered on the first day.

Construction of Dhaka Elevated Expressway to be completed within this year: Bridges Minister

Dhaka, Jan 17: Road Transport and Bridges Minister and Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said that the construction of Dhaka Elevated Expressway will be completed within this year.

Tk 7 cr toll collected in first month on elevated expressway

Dhaka, Oct 3: Monday (October 2) marked one month of the inauguration of the country's first elevated expressway. Kawla to Tejgaon section of Dhaka Udal Road, the much-awaited elevated expressway, was inaugurated on September 2 to ease traffic congestion in Dhaka. It was opened for traffic a day later on September 3. After the inauguration, 8 lakh 36 thousand 558 vehicles pass through this flyover in a month. About 99 percent of these are private vehicles (private cars), which are called Category 1, the number of which is 8 lakh 28 thousand 987. Tk 6 crore 77 lakh 43 thousand has been collected from these vehicles in one month.

Dhaka Elevated Expressway: Over 18.5L toll collected in 24 hours from 22,805 vehicles

Dhaka, Sept 4: Within 24 hours of inauguration, 22,805 vehicles travelled from Kawla to Farmgate on the Dhaka Elevated Expressway. During this period, the toll collected from those vehicles was more than Tk 18.5 lakh.

Bangladesh's first elevated expressway to be inaugurated tomorrow

Dhaka, Sept 1: The country's first elevated expressway will be inaugurated tomorrow (Saturday, Sept 2). Authorities have set a new speed limit for speed control. Although it is supposed to run at a speed of 80 km/h, the maximum speed will be 60 km/h on this partial route. However, experts say, watch out for fluctuating ramps. They urge to take measures to control the speed as well as discipline.
