EC to take action against fake information on Facebook about parliamentary elections
Dhaka, August 26: Fake information is being spread on the social media Facebook about the schedule and polling of the 12th National Parliament. Election Commission (EC) Additional Secretary Ashok Kumar Debnath has confirmed that the information published on Facebook about the national election schedule, symbol allocation and polling is fake. He said that the matter will be presented to the commission to take action against this false information.
EC now resorts to TikTok to prevent misinformation
Dhaka, August 23: Like Facebook, the Election Commission (EC) sought help from TikTok. The constitutional institution held a meeting with the organization on Tuesday to prevent Tiktok propaganda in the upcoming National Assembly elections.

Dhaka, June 24: Kutumbari Restaurant Limited has sent a legal notice to Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook, the world's largest social networking site, seeking USD 8,00,000 (Tk 6,79,54,336) in damages. Supreme Court lawyer Kazi Joynal Abedin sent the notice on December 8 last year on behalf of Gazi Khaled Ibn Mohammad, managing director of the Bangladeshi business.

The High Court has directed the BTRC to expedite the removal of a report on Bangladesh from the Qatar-based television channel Al Jazeera on all social media, including Facebook and YouTube.

Dhaka, November 7: RAB has arrested a 19-year-old girl named Israt Jahan Reilly from Mirpur area of the capital on charges of spreading hatred against religion on social media Facebook and Twitter. On Thursday (November 5) night, a team of RAB-4 arrested her from the Darussalam police station area of Mirpur.
