The maximum penalty for hoarding excess food is life imprisonment
Dhaka, June 22: Stocking more than the prescribed amount of foodstuff will be punishable. In this case, a draft of a new law has been taken up in the National Parliament with the provision of life imprisonment or a maximum of 14 years rigorous imprisonment and fine. Some of the offenses under the proposed law will also be tried in mobile courts.
Food will be imported from five countries
