Government officially extends ongoing lockdown for five days

Dhaka, August 5: A notification has been issued by the government to officially extend the ongoing hard lockdown by five more days- till midnight on Tuesday (August 10). The notification was issued by the Cabinet Division on Thursday (August 5).

Lockdown: 354 arrested by DMP, Tk 13 lakh fined on Tuesday

Dhaka, August 4: The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 354 people for violating government directives on the 12th day of the ongoing two-week hard lockdown, imposed by the government to put a check on coronavirus infections. According to the DMP, 120 individuals and organizations were fined Tk 1,77,800 by the mobile courts.

Lockdown extended till August 10

Dhaka, August 3: The government has decided to extend the lockdown till August 10 to prevent coronavirus infection. The decision was taken at an inter-ministerial meeting on Tuesday (August 3). After the meeting, Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque told reporters.

DMP arrests 381 on Friday for venturing out during Covid-19 lockdown

Dhaka, July 31: On Friday, 381 people were arrested by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) for disobeying instructions during a 14-day hard lockdown imposed by the government to curb the spread of the coronavirus. Besides, 108 individuals and organizations have been fined Tk 69,940 by the mobile courts. At the same time, the traffic department imposed a fine of Tk 8,17,000 against 321 vehicles.

DGHS recommends extension of Covid-19 restrictions by 10 days

Dhaka, July 30: The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has recommended extending the lockdown for 10 days after August 5 to prevent the spread of the coronavirus infection. Director General of the DGHS Prof. Dr. ABM Khurshid Alam said this on Friday afternoon.

Police fine car for using 'emergency patient' sticker and venturing out during lockdown

Dhaka, July 26: On the third day, 587 people were arrested by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) for disobeying government instructions during the ongoing two-week hard lockdown to prevent the coronavirus infection. Two hundred thirty-three individuals and organizations were fined Tk 1,00,950 by mobile courts. Besides, the traffic department also imposed a fine of Tk 12,72,000 on 521 vehicles. A total of 1,373 people have been arrested in the capital in three days.

Dhaka: 403 people arrested on the first day of hard lockdown

Dhaka, July 24: On the first day of the ongoing hard lockdown, 403 people were arrested by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) for disobeying government instructions. At that time, 203 individuals and organizations have been fined Tk 1,27,270 in the mobile courts. Besides, the traffic department has imposed a fine of Tk 1,60,000 on 441 vehicles.
