Dhaka, July 27: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed its displeasure by summoning the ambassadors and diplomats of 13 Western missions for giving a statement on the alleged attack on Ashraful Hossain Alam alias Hero Alam, an independent candidate for the Dhaka-17 by-election. They have been informed that Bangladesh is dissatisfied with the behaviour of making a sudden statement.

Hero Alam row: Foreign Ministry calls chiefs of 13 foreign missions

Dhaka, July 26: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has summoned 12 countries including the United States and the ambassador of the European Union in Dhaka. They have been called after expressing concern over the attack on independent candidate Ashraful Alam aka Hero Alam in Dhaka-17 by-election. Today, Wednesday, July 26, the heads of 13 missions working in Dhaka will be informed about the government's displeasure.

Ambassadors' statement on Hero Alam violates Vienna Convention : Information Minister

Dhaka, July 21: Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud said about the joint statement issued by the foreign missions in Dhaka on the Hero Alam incident, the way the ambassadors of 13 countries gave the statement, like the political party, is a clear violation of the code of conduct of ambassadors which is in the Vienna Convention.

Diplomats' statements about Hero Alam unacceptable: Momen

Dhaka, July 20: Expressing displeasure at the joint statement issued by foreign missions in Dhaka regarding the attack on Hero Alam, Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen said that such 'workmanlike behavior' from diplomats is not acceptable. When reporters asked for his comments on this, he said, "This is not acceptable. Only when something happens in Bangladesh, they create noise."

Attack on Hero Alam: EC says nothing happened in polling station, but the incident is unfortunate

Dhaka, July 18: Regarding the attack on independent candidate Hero Alam, Election Commissioner (EC) Md Alamgir said, "He (Hero Alam) tried to enter the center with many supporters. About 70 YouTubers were with him. He was then blocked at the gate. He was said that you can enter with your agent or four-five people. The rest were sent back from the centre. Nothing happened at the polling station. When he came to the road, some people chased him. It is very unfortunate incident. We have instructed the police to conduct a proper investigation. In the meantime, two have been arrested."

Hero Alam allegedly attacked at polling station

Dhaka, July 18: At the last minute of the polling, an attack took place on Ashraful Alam aka Hero Alam, an independent candidate for the by-election in Dhaka-17 constituency. Eyewitnesses said that he was attacked at Banani Bidyaniketan School and College center around 3:30 in the afternoon.
