Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 26 August 2023: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left Johannesburg for Dhaka on Saturday. She attended the 15th BRICS Summit held from August 22 to 24 at the invitation of South African President Cyril Ramaphosa. A regular Emirates Airlines flight carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage departed from OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, South Africa at 1:40 pm (local time) today, Saturday, August 26.

BRICS: Prime Minister Hasina holds meetings with four presidents

Own correspondent, Dhaka, 25 August 2023: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina held a meeting with the presidents of four countries on the sidelines of the 15th BRICS Summit. Separate bilateral meetings with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Mozambique President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan and Iranian President Sayyid Ebrahim Raisolsadati were held at the Sandton Convention Center in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Sheikh Hasina becomes President of D-8

Dhaka, April 9: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken over the chairmanship of the 10th Summit of the Alliance of Developing Countries D-8. She will hold the post for the next two years. At a meeting of the coalition on Thursday (April 8th), Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina took over from Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of Turkey and current President of the organization.
