Dhaka, Jan 17: A ferry named Rajnigandha loaded with vehicles capsized in Padma river on Paturia-Daulatdia route early Wednesday (Jan 17). The incident took place around 8:30 am near Ghat No. 5 of Paturia.

Teacher, student killed as pickup truck rams them on Manikganj school premises

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, March 22: A first-grade student and a female teacher were killed when a pickup truck rammed into the Abdul Alim Memorial School at Shibala in Manikganj. Six others were injured in the accident.

Lockdown till June 30 in seven districts from today

Dhaka, June 22: The government has announced a lockdown in seven districts from Tuesday (June 22) to June 30 due to an increase in coronavirus infections, said Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam at an emergency briefing of the Cabinet Division on Monday (June 21) afternoon. He said restrictions have been imposed in Manikganj, Munshiganj, Narayanganj, Gazipur, Rajbari, Madaripur and Gopalganj till June 30.

Two killed in Manikganj road accident

Dhaka, June 12: Two motorcyclists were killed when an ambulance collided with them in Muljan area of Manikganj Sadar upazila. The accident took place on the Dhaka-Aricha highway around 8:45 am on Saturday (June 12).

Three dead as passenger bus loses control in Manikganj

Dhaka, October 22: A Dhaka-bound passenger bus lost control and fell into a ditch at Singair in Manikganj, killing three people, including the driver. At least 20 passengers of the bus were injured. The accident took place at around 2.30pm on Thursday (October 22) in Rishipara Bakchar area of Hemayetpur-Singair-Manikganj regional highway in the upazila.

Couple dies in Manikganj road accident

A man and his wife were killed after a speeding bus mowed them during a road accident in Manikganj district. The deceased, identified as 52-year-old Humayun Kabir and 45-year-old Yashmin Akhtar, were bike-borne at the time of the deadly mishap.
