Dhaka, April 17: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina called upon the country's clerics, ulema and khatibs to speak out against militancy, drugs, corruption and violence against women while delivering sermons in mosques. She said, "People of the country respect scholars, ulema, khatib and imams. So your talk or conversation is very important to them."

নিজস্ব প্রতিনিধি, ঢাকা, ১৮ সেপ্টেম্বর ২০২০ : নারায়ণগঞ্জে আবারও একটি মসজিদের পাশে বিস্ফোরণের ঘটনা ঘটেছে। মসজিদের অজুখানার পানির হাউস পরিষ্কার করতে গিয়ে লোহার পাইপ বৈদ্যুতিক ট্রান্সমিটারের তারের সঙ্গে লেগে স্পার্ক করলে এ বিস্ফোরণ ঘটে। দুর্ঘটনায় পাইপ মিস্ত্রি মনির হোসেন মারা গেছেন। আর মসজিদের মুয়াজ্জিন সোলয়মান দগ্ধ হয়েছেন।
