Country's dengue cases witnessing 60 fold jump

Dhaka, August 6: June to September is the dengue season. Compared to the months of June and July last year, the number of dengue patients has increased 60 times in the two months of 2021! Again, just counting August, it exceeds 70 times. Entomologists had predicted the outcome earlier. Last June, they had said that dengue would increase several times if immediate action was not taken.

Over 1,000 patients undergoing dengue treatment in Bangladesh

Dhaka, August 5: Concerns are growing in size for the country's healthcare sector as dengue fever has picked up pace alongside the surging coronavirus cases. In the last 24 hours, the country registered another 218 dengue patients, of which 208 alone were admitted in hospitals in Dhaka.

Minister Tajul Islam instructs city corporations to control dengue within two weeks

Dhaka, August 2: Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives Minister Md Tajul Islam has instructed all concerned, including the councillors of the city corporations, to eradicate Aedes mosquito and bring dengue to a tolerable level within two weeks. He gave the directive at a meeting on 'Strengthening Dengue Prevention and Aedes Mosquito Control' at Dhaka South City Corporation's Nagar Bhaban on Sunday (August 1) afternoon.

Country registers another 170 dengue cases on Friday

Dhaka, July 31: A day after recording the highest number of single-day dengue cases, another 170 patients were admitted to different hospitals across the country on Friday. On Thursday (July 29), 194 people were admitted to hospitals, according to the Health Emergency Operations Center and Control Room of the Directorate General Health Services on Friday (July 30).

Over 1,000 people affected by dengue in July

Dhaka, July 22: A total of 1,013 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals in the first 22 days of July this year. Of these, 25 have been admitted to the hospital in the last 24 hours. A total of 1,385 dengue patients have been admitted to the hospital from January this year to Thursday (July 22).

Two die of dengue, 69 more gets admitted in the last 24 hours

Dhaka, July 15: Two died of Aedes mosquito-borne dengue fever while undergoing treatment. One of them died at a private square hospital in the capital and the other at a hospital in Chittagong. However, data has been sent to the dengue suspicion death review committee of the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control And Research (IEDCR) of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) to review whether their deaths were due to dengue.

53 dengue cases reported in 24 hours

Dhaka, July 12: On the day the country reported 230 fatalities- its highest Covid-19 single-day death- and another 11,874 new infections, Bangladesh also registered 53 new dengue cases, the most in a day in 2021, on Sunday.

Dhaka, July 7: In the last 24 hours, 32 patients have been admitted to the hospital with Aedes mosquito-borne dengue fever.

Dhaka, June 30: Along with a spike in Covid-19 cases and deaths, the country is also witnessing a growth in dengue patients as 16 people were admitted to different hospitals across the country in 24 hours between Monday and Tuesday morning, reports said.
