Dhaka, Feb 12: Stating that the Smart Parliament will be established soon, Speaker of Jatiya Sangsad Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury said that the officers and employees of Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat are fulfilling their duties and responsibilities with devotion. The work of the National Parliament is being conducted according to the law.

Maximum number of seven bills were passed on this day which is a record in the history of Parliament. In this session of only nine working days, 25 bills were passed. Earlier, 18 bills were passed in nine working days of the 24th session. The opposition National Party played an active role from the beginning to the end of the Parliament. They actively participate in every bill passing process.

Cyber security law passed with provision for warrantless arrest

Dhaka, Sept 14: Jatiya Sangsad passed 'Cyber Security Bill 2023' with provisions for arrest without warrant, maximum penalty of crores of Tk 1 crore fine and 14 years imprisonment. State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak proposed the bill for passage in the National Parliament session on Wednesday and it was passed by voice vote.

Dhaka, Sept 13: The 'Land Crime Prevention and Remedy Bill-2023' has been passed with provision of maximum seven years imprisonment and fine for keeping other's land in one's possession, making fake or false documents and transferring documents mentioning any part of land outside of one's own ownership.

Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury announced the end of the 22nd session of the current Parliament by reading the announcement of President Md. Abdul Hamid regarding the end of the session on Monday. This session was called on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the National Parliament.
