Dhaka, August 28: State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid said that the import of hydropower from Nepal is almost final. He said this during a courtesy meeting with Pankaj Gupta, regional director of infrastructure for South Asia at the secretariat on Sunday. During this time they discussed various issues related to mutual interest.

A tripartite agreement to be signed to bring Nepal's electricity to Bangladesh

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 18 August 2023: Tripartite agreement to supply electricity from Nepal to Bangladesh via India will be signed soon. It has already been agreed in principle to bring this electricity from Nepal mainly using Indian transmission lines. Once the agreement is completed, 40 MW of electricity from Nepal will transit through the Indian grid and enter Bangladesh. Indian media reported this information in a report on Thursday.

Government okays purchase of 50,000 tons of fertilizer for export to Nepal

Dhaka, December 24: The Cabinet Committee on Public Procurement has approved Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) to purchase 50,000 tonnes of granular urea fertilizer from Karnafuli Fertilizer Company (Kafco) for export to Nepal at a cost of Tk 109.74 crore.
