102 kmph nor'wester, thunderstorm lash Dhaka

Dhaka, May 24: Nor'wester storm has swept over the capital Dhaka at a speed of 102 km per hour. On Tuesday, May 23, around 5 pm, nor'wester swept over different parts of Dhaka. Then it started raining heavily around 5:45 pm. Due to storms and rains, the heat has reduced and relief has returned to the city life.

The Kalbaishakhi storm (Nor'wester) started in Dhaka on Saturday (May 21) at around 5:45 am. After a while it started raining. It was raining heavily in the capital at 8 in the morning.

Dhaka, April 6: In Gaibandha, two more women were killed and 12 others were injured when they were crushed under a tree and branches that collapsed in the Kalbaishakhi storm. The storm killed five people in Sadar upazila, three in Palashbari, two in Fulchhari and one each in Sundarganj and Gobindaganj on Sunday evening.
