Onion price going down after India allows its export

Dhaka, March 8: Onion, which was sold at Tk 120 per kg in the retail market, within a day the price of that onion has decreased by Tk 10 and is being sold at Tk 110. The price of onion in the country's market has started to fall a day after the decision of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs to allow the export of onions to five other countries including Bangladesh.

Onion price touches Tk 100/kg in retail markets

Dhaka, Jan 30: Fresh onions were priced at Tk 70 to 80 per kg in the market throughout the week, but there has been a sudden rise in onion prices since Sunday. The price in the retail market has increased and reached Tk 100 again.

Indian tariff will not affect onion prices: Agriculture Minister

Dhaka, August 21: Agriculture Minister Dr. Md. Abdur Razzak said even if India imposes 40 percent duty on onion export, it will not affect the price in Bangladesh. 

Onion to be imported within two days if price does not decrease

Dhaka, May 20: Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi said that the government will import onion if the price does not come down in a day or two. At the same time, the price of sugar has been fixed, but its impact on the market has not yet been felt. The government is working on consumer rights to ensure the sale of sugar at fixed prices.
