Dhaka, Jan 17: A ferry named Rajnigandha loaded with vehicles capsized in Padma river on Paturia-Daulatdia route early Wednesday (Jan 17). The incident took place around 8:30 am near Ghat No. 5 of Paturia.

Cyclone Sitrang: 13 ships capsize in Padma river

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, Oct 27: Thirteen boats have sunk in Padma river after Cyclone Sitrang hit Shibchar in Madaripur. The owners are trying to rescue them with local divers. However, neither the BIWTA nor the fire service started rescue operations. It is claimed that several crores of rupees have been lost in this incident. But no one is missing in it. The accident could have been avoided if the sunken boats were kept in the channel of Kanthalbari ghat, the locals said.

Dhaka, November 27: Six days after the installation of the 38th span, the 39th span was installed on the Padma Bridge. On Friday (November 27) at around 12:30 pm, the span was placed on pillars 10 and 11. Through this, 5,850 meters of the bridge became visible.

5,700 metres of Padma Bridge visible

Dhaka, November 21: In just nine days, the 38th span of Padma Bridge has been placed on the 1st and 2nd poles of Mawa end of Munshiganj. The span was placed on poles 1 and 2 on the Mawa side at 2.35 pm on Saturday.

5,250 metres of the Padma bridge now visible

Dhaka, October 31: With the installation of the 35th span, 5,250 meters of the Padma Bridge became visible. At 2:40 pm on Saturday (October 31), the ‘Two-B’ span was placed on pillars 8 and 9 on the Mawa side.
