Own Correspondent, Dhaka, July 18: Two people were killed when a pickup van loaded with oxygen cylinders overturned on Padma Bridge. Three people, including a woman and her twin daughters, were injured in the accident. The injured were sent to Dhaka after providing first aid at a local hospital.
Own Correspondent, Dhaka, July 10: The highest daily toll collection on the Padma Bridge has been recorded. A maximum of 31,723 vehicles crossed the Padma Bridge on Friday ahead of the Eid-ul-Azha. Tk 4 crore 19 lakh 39 thousand 650 rupees toll has been collected from those vehicles, which is the highest record of toll collection in a single day so far.

Many had the idea that because of the Padma Bridge, passengers in the south-west would no longer use the Paturia-Daulatdia water route. However, the picture of Paturia Ghat changed from noon on Thursday (July 7). Hundreds of passengers and vehicles gathered at the ghat ahead of Eid.
