Govt. lists 23 conditions for next cycle of hard lockdown

Dhaka, July 13: After relaxing the restrictions from midnight of July 14 till 6 am on July 23, the government will impose another phase of hard lockdown, which will continue till August 5. However, 23 conditions have been added, which will be followed during the second cycle of the hard lockdown. 

Lockdown relaxed ahead of Eid, govt. issues notification

Dhaka, July 13: The government has issued a notification relaxing the hard lockdown ahead of Eid-ul-Azha. According to the notification, which was issued by the Cabinet Division on Tuesday, public transport will operate, while shops and shopping malls will open and activities will take place in compliance with strict hygiene rules. It will come into effect from the midnight of July 14 and will remain in action till 6 am on July 23.

Restrictions to ease between July 15 and 22, hard lockdown from July 23 again

Dhaka, July 13: Restrictions imposed by the government on various issues to curb the spread of the coronavirus will be relaxed from July 15 to 22, according to an official statement on Monday (July 12).

Lockdown for at least another week, restrictions to be relaxed during Eid

Dhaka, July 12: The lockdown will continue for at least another week as the coronavirus infection situation has not improved. As such, restrictions will remain in place during the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha holiday (July 20-22). However, despite the extension of the ban, the government is thinking of easing the activities related to the sale of sacrificial animals.

Dhaka, July 10: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 585 people for disobeying government directives on the ninth day of the hard lockdown. At the same time, 129 individuals and organizations have been fined Tk 1,57,650 by mobile courts.

Lockdown goes for a toss as check posts allow free movement of vehicles

Dhaka, July 8: On the eighth day of strict restrictions, imposed to to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, check points on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway in the Jatrabari area were relaxed. In the early days of the ban, almost every vehicle in the check points were interrogated before being allowed to pass.

Lockdown: 467 people arrested, fines amounting Tk 27 lakh collected

Dhaka, July 7: On the sixth day of the hard lockdown, 467 people were arrested by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) for disobeying government instructions. A total of 305 people have been fined Tk 2,27,480 by the mobile court. Besides, a fine of Tk 25,29,000 has been imposed on 1,087 vehicles by the traffic department. A total of 3,085 people have been arrested in the capital in the six days. On Tuesday (July 6), on the sixth day of the lockdown, eight divisions of the DMP took legal action against these individuals.

Police arrest 320 people on second day of the week-long hard lockdown

Dhaka, July 3: Police have arrested 320 people for leaving their homes unnecessarily on Friday, the second day of a "hard lockdown" imposed to control the spread of the coronavirus.

755 people arrested-detained by DMP on the first day of the hard lockdown

Dhaka, July 2: On the first day of the hard lockdown, 755 people were either arrested or detained by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) for disobeying government instructions. Eight divisions of the DMP took legal action against these individuals on Thursday (July 1).

Govt. appoints 106 Magistrates to run Mobile Court during Lockdown

Dhaka, July 1: The government has imposed a seven-day strict lockdown from Thursday (July 1) as coronavirus (Covid-19) infections have risen alarmingly. To keep things in check, 106 officers of the BCS administration cadre have been appointed as executive magistrates to run mobile courts, an order issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Wednesday (June 30) said.
