Dhaka, June 8: The High Court has rejected the writ petition filed by Kazi Shahid Islam Papul to retain his seat as a Member of Parliament.
Former MP Papul's sentence extended by three years in Kuwait
Dhaka, April 27: Kazi Shahid Islam Papul, a former Member of Parliament (MP) from Laxmipur-2 constituency in Bangladesh, has been sentenced to seven years in prison after it was increased by three more years on Monday (April 26th) by an appeals court. He was also fined 20 lakh Kuwaiti dinars.

Dhaka, December 10: The High Court has ordered Selina Islam, wife of Laxmipur-2 MP Kazi Shahid Islam Papul, and his daughter Wafa Islam, who was arrested in Kuwait on charges of illegal acquisition of wealth and money laundering, to surrender within 10 days. A virtual bench of the High Court comprising Justice Md. Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Ahmed Sohail passed the order on Thursday (December 10th).
