Dhaka, July 15: In view of the case filed in the High Court against the foreign ship carrying coal for Rampal thermal power plant stationed at Mongla port, the ship has been barred from leaving the port. The order issued said that the ship will be detained at Mongla port until further order is given by the High Court.

Rampal thermal power plant restarts production

Dhaka, February 16: Production of Rampal coal-based thermal power plant has resumed. After 11:00 pm on Wednesday (February 15), the electricity generated is supplied to the national grid.

Trial production starts at Rampal Power Plant

Dhaka, December 20: Trial production has been started at Rampal Power Plant (coal-based Maitri Super Thermal Power Plant) on Saturday night. In this, 660 MW electricity is being added to the national grid from Unit-1.

3 ships anchor in Pasur river with coal from Kolkata

Dhaka, July 19: Three cargo ships have arrived in Mongla with coal from Rampal Thermal Power Station. On Monday (July 19) morning, three ships named MV Shyamal Bangla, Enamul Hossain and Al Beruni Saikot-2 anchored coal in the Pasur river of the port.

India sends first consignment of coal for Rampal power plant

Dhaka, July 3: India has sent the first shipment of coal to Bangladesh via the Sundarbans for the Rampal Power Plant at Bagerhat. About 4,000 metric tonnes of coal was exported to Bangladesh from Netaji Subhash Dock (NSD) at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Port (SMP) in Kolkata on Friday. This has been reported by Indian media sources.

The Rampal power plant will go into production in 2021

Dhaka, December 2: In 'Mujib Barsho', the government is committed to bring the country under 100 percent electricity. To this end, the work of Rampal Power Plant is being taken forward rapidly. It is expected that the first unit of the two-unit Maitri Super Thermal Power Plant with a capacity of 1320 MW will go into production by the end of 2021 and the second unit by early 2022.
