Girl strangled to death after rape, four sentenced to death
Dhaka, October 18: The court sentenced four people to death in the case of strangulation of a girl after rape in Narayanganj. Meanwhile, one person has been sentenced to life and one person has been acquitted. On Tuesday (October 18) morning, Judge Nazmul Haque Shyamal of the Women and Child Abuse Prevention Tribunal gave the order.
Life imprisonment for restaurant worker in 6th class student rape case
Dhaka, August 11: The court sentenced a restaurant worker named Raju Ahmed to life imprisonment in the case of raping a class six student in the capital's Sabuj Bagh. নিজস্ব প্রতিনিধি, ঢাকা, ২২ সেপ্টেম্বর ২০২০ : ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় কেন্দ্রীয় ছাত্র সংসদের সাবেক সহ-সভাপতি (ভিপি) নুরুল হক নুরসহ ৭ জনকে আটকের পর মুচলেকা নিয়ে ছেড়ে দিয়েছে পুলিশ। সোমবার (২১ সেপ্টেম্বর) রাত ১১টার দিকে মহানগর গোয়েন্দা পুলিশের যুগ্ম কমিশনার মাহবুব আলম বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেন। তিনি বলেন, তাদের মুচলেকা নিয়ে ছেড়ে দেওয়া হয়েছে। নুর কিছুটা অসুস্থবোধ করায় তাকে হাসপাতালে নেওয়া হয়েছিল।
