Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 28 July 2023: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the third terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in October. The contractor said that 81 percent of the terminal work has been completed. On Thursday, Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister Md Tofazzal Hossain visited the third terminal under construction of Shahjalal Airport.
Two passengers arrested at Shahjalal Airport while smuggling foreign currency
Dhaka, October 30: Airport Armed Police have arrested two passengers while they were trying to smuggle Saudi riyals at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Friday morning. They tried to go to Bahrain with Saudi Riyal worth 1 crore 40 lakh taka. Airport Superintendent of Police Mohammad Ziaul Haque confirmed the information to BSS.
Customs seizes 18 American Brahman cows at HSIA
Dhaka, July 7: Dhaka Custom House has seized 18 cows of American Brahman breed imported from the United States. The cows arrived at Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Monday (July 5) at noon on a Turkish Airlines flight. Mohammad Abdus Sadeq, Deputy Commissioner (Preventive) of Dhaka Customs House, said that these were confiscated as there was no permission to import the Brahman breed cows in Bangladesh and the importer of cattle was not available.

Infrastructure of Shahjalal Airport's third terminal visible now
Dhaka, March 2: The infrastructure of the third terminal of Shahjalal International Airport is becoming visible. About 11 percent of the project has been completed 14 months after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina laid the foundation stone. The work did not stop despite the impact of coronavirus and underground bomb recovery in the project area. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) thinks it will be able to complete the work on time.
3 kg gold recovered from Qatar returnee
Dhaka, January 20: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department has seized 3.48 kilograms of gold from a passenger returning from Qatar, at Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. The estimated value of the seized item is Tk 2.32 crore. Abu Hanif Md. Abdul Ahad, assistant director of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department, confirmed the news on Tuesday (January 19).

Dhaka, July 8: Security officials have detained a Chinese national from Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport with 28 gold bars, media reports said.
