Youth arrested for provocative social media post
Dhaka, October 28: The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested a 30-year-old youth, identified as Ashish Mallick, 30, for spreading false information and provocative posts on social media about the Comilla incident.
Writ in High Court to remove all provocative posts from social media
Dhaka, October 27: A writ petition has been filed in the High Court seeking directions to remove all kinds of provocative posts and videos posted on social media for the purpose of communal violence. The writ petition also calls for a judicial inquiry to find those responsible for attacks on Hindu homes, places of worship and minority communities across the country.
Police taking action against social media rumour-mongers
Dhaka, October 19: Police are also taking action against those who spread rumours through social media and have recently destroyed communal harmony in different parts of the country. The concerned units of Bangladesh Police are monitoring the rumour mongers through various social media and are continuing to take legal action against them.
Sedition case against those spreading false information about Bangladesh on social media
The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Home Affairs has proposed a sedition case against Bangladeshi nationals involved in spreading false information against the state through any social media including Facebook. It has been proposed to take action against those involved in this work in the country and abroad.

নিজস্ব প্রতিনিধি, ঢাকা, নভেম্বর ২৭: নির্বাচন কমিশন (ইসি) সচিব হেলালুদ্দীন আহমদ জানিয়েছেন, ফেসবুক, ইউটিউব, টুইটারসহ সামাজিক যোগাযোগমাধ্যমে নির্বাচন নিয়ে অপপ্রচার করলে ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া হবে। সোমবার এ কথা জানিয়েছেন। ইভিএমে কোন কোন আসনে ভোট নেওয়া হবে, তা নির্ধারণ করতে আয়োজিত লটারি অনুষ্ঠানে ইসি সচিব এসব কথা বলেন।
